A central focus of AVENTRA’s innovation program is the use of innovative optical methods in biomedicine. One application example is the use of optical, i.e. light-based methods in genetic diagnostics, which are utilized in the real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). AVENTRA has many years of experience in using this technology and, based on these qualifications, has already been able to develop new analysis methods in gene diagnostics and has implemented them in the everyday laboratory work.
Another focus of the innovation strategy is the use of optical imaging methods in biomedicine. When using these technologies e.g. in cell biology, light signals are utilized to analyze signal processes in individual cells and thus contribute to the understanding of cellular processes under physiological and pathophysiological (i.e. disease-relevant) conditions.
